Location(s): Between 2011 and 2016, n1Health grew to at least 10 locations in multiple states,7 including locations in Sacramento, CA; Williamsburg, VA; Ridgefield, CT; Scottsdale, AZ; Lutz, FL; Decatur, GA; and Bothell, WA. 

Scope of Practice: n1Health’s primary focus was partnering with physicians to establish concierge practices with a focus on prevention and wellness supported by n1Health’s technology. n1Health sought I&FM physicians to pursue prevention and wellness. Practices were “branded” n1Health offices and used a n1Health website for their practice. Physicians saw between six to eight patients a day2 while limiting their to 200-400 patients.2, 5

Practice Focus: n1Health positioned itself as a wellness offering supporting a better practice experience focused on early disease identification and treatment.  Per n1Health,  n1Health makes active investments in partnerships with physicians to modernize their practices and the way in which they bring value to their communities.4 

Pricing: n1Health appears to have been an out-of-network concierge approach that relied on membership fees for a significant part of the practice income. In 2013, the annual membership fee at a California n1Health practice was $2,400.2  Additional revenue was probably derived from supplement sales and specialty lab testing as n1Health focused on functional medicine. 

Public Information: After starting in 2011, n1Health had two rounds of funding totaling $3.2 million by November 27, 2013.1 In 2014, n1Health partnered with BettrLife to implement BettrLifes’ “innovative mobile- and web-based activity and nutrition toolset, along with its HealthCoach dashboard for bi-directional patient engagement.”4

In March 2016, the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) released a press statement that n1Health announced plans to invest up to $4 million in partnerships with physicians trained in functional medicine. In June 2016, n1Health opened the Prescott, AZ n1Health office. In September 2016, four physicians listed on IFM’s Find a Provider search were associated with n1Health. 

After 2016, very little information is available about n1Health. The n1Health practice locations closed or were no longer associated with n1Health. The n1Health website is no longer active. It is unclear how n1Health’s closure affected their physician partners. 

On his Linkedin page as of 10/18/2019, Scott Walker, n1Health’s CEO from 2015-2016 states: “n1Health was an early leader in concierge medicine with a focus on prevention and wellness. I was brought on to pilot an innovative hybrid concierge model. Based on the results of the pilot, we determined that the model was not worth further investment.6” It is unclear whether Mr. Walker is referring to all of the clinics founded by n1Health as “an innovative hybrid concierge model” or if there was a subset of clinics employing a separate approach. 

In 2022, Algorex became n1Health, an “AI Healthcare Company.” The current n1Health provides healthcare services but does not appear related to the previous version of n1Health.
